I have been asked to sort out a problem with a business that has a lot issues the issues include a lack of security not enough backing up security of the back ups unrestricted internet access and so on.

 

There are 50 users and there is no log in required so anybody can walk of the street come in and access what they want. There needs to a username and password created for all 50 users.

 

Internet unrestricted access so you can go on anything that you want.

 

Staff is allowed to remove and add software. The problem with that is the increase in viruses from adding software but also when you get a program like Microsoft office you have to pay a license to use it and when it is uninstalled you have to get a new license so that is a lot of risk that could cost the company a lot of money.

 

Data is only back up once a mouth so there is a high risk that you will lose work a back up should be taken a few times a day to just to be secure. The data taps are keep in a plastic box on top of a server and the problem is the server heats up and the plastic has a risk of melting and burning the taps.

 

The company keeps personal records of the customers these include bank details account numbers and purchases and all staff have access to these records so there is a massive risk of identity theft.

 

The history of the computers is not kept so the sites you visit could be anything and you wouldn’t know what they were looking at.

 

 

  There is no firewall in place so the treats can make serious changes to the computer and could even make unusable.

 

Downloads are not monitored so the employees could be downloading anything and when downloading that’s were there is a very high chance of getting a virus.
